Ice Block Un-boxing! Lost Planet 2 promotion

My roommate and I hammer out the Lost Planet 2 beta code from a block of ice here in Seattle, after snagging probably the last one in the state from the promotion today. Sorry if I'm a bit giggly throughout; I'm ecstatic at finding one of the blocks after giving up all hope over the course of the afternoon.

You can't really see because of the video quality, but I drilled holes along the sides of the block so we could provoke a fracture in the ice. Not really necessary I know, but it was an idea I had in the hours we had driving around looking for the damn thing and I wanted to see what would happen. My idea worked :)

Anyways, since I got to do the drilling my roommate got to do the hammering. After the first couple hits shards of ice started spraying all over into our living room, which is why I closed the screen door. Our reward was an Xbox 360 version of the beta! But wait, what's that inside? There's no Xbox code, it's a PS3 code! Scandal!

But whatever, entered the code and downloaded the demo and it all works! Thanks Capcom! Next time though, please have some way for people to tell at the location if the block has already been taken :P

See, I was lucky enough (living on the UK) to get a Beta code and then I just sent it to my friends via the new USB storage.

But I'd've still liked to have this kind of promotion on the UK. Why only in America. Great marketing stratergy Capcom, just leave out Europe.

I gotta say, Capcom has some of the most innovative ideas to get people hyped up for a game... This looks like it was really fun when it first came out (Breaking the blocks, before the game was released I mean)
