Sounds like a Volvo made from 2003 and onwards. Had one before , it took even longer to start than this Volvo did once.

You know, I just found this video and my first thought was, "CRANK POSITION SENSOR!" And, lo and behold, it was.

Please make a video of your V70R!!!!!!!

No, because in 2003 they changed the look of the speedometers, so this car is one of 2003 and backwards =)

HI Darrin, the T5 is going really well these days. We still love it. It was occasionally doing this with starting, but my mechanic Adam at Frank O'Grady's in Perth found the starter motor was flogged out causing electrical interference and the electrical interference is what was stopping it from actually starting. $45 for a second hand starter and it was never a problem again. Also changed gearbox and it has never looked back. Love it 206k on it now. How is the V70R going? cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff , Nice to hear you still have the car :-) V70R is going fine, we have done 40,000 kays in the two years we have had it... so its now showing just over 106,000 kays
Also bought a 98 V70R in the rare Saffron colour and a 96 850R as a daily...
All the best for the new year, regards Daz.

Notice the tacho flickering up to 7000 rpm when its being cranked over...problem was actually the crank angle sensor. Thanks for looking though !
