I will try this on my 2001 PT Cruiser limited edition this past week it closed but the passanger side moves and then the drivers side catches up but it moves extremly slow. and when it is closed I can't pop the vent up it just clicks. now when the sunroof is closed on the outside the sunroof toward the drivers side back the window dosen't seal like it did. there is a small gap. So I will try this hopefully it will work and I don't have to drop a lot of money at the dealers.
You might have a problem with the sunshade drive cables. There are usually one for each side. Check and make sure there are not kinked, also check the gear wheel of the motor, you might have a flat spot.
there is a thing that comes with the jack that lets you crank it closed by hand at least with all hondas there is its like a hex key except with another piece going down also alot bigger

I will try this on my old Audi see if it will close again. It sticks open while trying to close.
