The Sony Vegas pro rendering quality can go pretty high. I used to use Windows Movie maker for my videos and switched to sony vegas pro, because I don't make so much basic videos. For you, I think windows movie maker is perfect. Just for adding in and editing a bit the video clips and adding audio, Windows Move maker is pretty basic yet good. I would say it's really not worth the hassle to get something new if you already have something that works great, and meets your needs. That my opinion.
