Maria Callas's Early Unknown Casta Diva!!!

Could someone tell me where and when it was recorded??I t must be her very aerly recording...i feel before maybe 1950!!

@kgarmaker123 A friend of mine send that to me..He also dont know..however it is an early nice Casta diva..her vocie is like crystal...it maybe in 40s...who knows..

Indeed this is the 1953 Trieste Norma - notice the "Caaaaast -coup de glotte- aaa Diva" it is most characteristic of this. She did this only once ;)

This is early.. i belive before 1949 cause she started to "close" the sound in the first word of the aria (casta), sounding more like "Costa" after that. she added more colours to the aria later.. a recital maybe?

As allanaki says it is the Trieste performance from 1953, absolutely. but the recording I have from Divina records is not nearly as clear as this, so thanks for posting. Some of the many points that are identical: at the beginning of the aria Callas gets very slightly "stuck" on the second A of "Casta" as she negotiates her lower passaggio. The coughs heard in the audience are all in exactly the same spots as is the radio noise. Also the clapping at the end is distinctly the same. Thanks!
