I know exactly how you feel, I also been through so much because of my skin color...I got married last year and my husbands family didn't want us to get married because I have dark skin and my husband has fair skin. I had to hear a lot of crap from his side of the family before marriage and now after marriage they show me no respect and also calls me "Khaalu" (black) and "Kaamli Furi" which means slave girl. It's very painful and there R times when I wish I was lighter.

@Shuhana10003 thanx for your honesty and Im sorry to hear that, why allow them to define who you are? I want you to go in search of the facts about skin colour instead of dwelling on their ignorance. Dark skin's a blessing + a result of more skin melanin, which acts as a filter to prevent damage to the delicate deeper layers of the skin by uv sun rays. We all have Melanin, but not all are fortunate to express it thru their skin. The truth will help u demand the respect u deserve
