  • What does a Technical Rescue Tender do? The same stuff as a PRT or not?

  • It has more heavy-duty extrication gear than a PRT but doesn't have any pumps, so its not called out to house fires etc. I've only seen it in action at accidents involving commercial trucks, where a standard PRT's equipment doesn't cut it. (Pun not intended :/) Check out the link in the video info on the right for close-up pictures of its lockers.

  • LOL that thing looks like a pumper more than a rescue. In Hong Kong Dennis Sabre are used for Pumper and Rescue units are Mercedes Benz and MAN

  • It is unusual. There are a few Dennis pumps and pump/rescue tenders in NZ, but this is the only Dennis technical rescue I know of - as well as being the only TRT in Auckland.

  • I rekon they should build a few more of these for major citys so they can be used for both major accidents and USAR (also saves having a hardly used dedicated USAR truck) because its a good concept. How often does it come through or into town for rescues?

  • ok.

  • nah nah Q siren on a dennis nah nah 2t's aye or more power full siren like on the older trucks lol

  • Yes, a bit ironic. :p

Well, thanks for the link. Very interesting!

  • I just looked it up, and it was a head-on truck crash, I added a link to it in the video description.

  • See, what did I tell you! ;P Its just a bit ironic that the Heavy Rescue was most likely on its way to a truck crash, and its a truck holding it up! But as the popular truck bumper stickers say "If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you".
