@Wilsonboy0528 Ehh... No they don't. The arm in a HDD has everything a speaker has... And so it works like one :) Try hooking a small speaker up to an old HDD's arm actuator!
@Wilsonboy0528 WRONG i made 2 of these today and tested them with platters without....... make them yourself and feel all the vibrations coming from the arm
I can explain it for you it's really easy.But you should have some solder experiences.all you need is an old hdd and two wires... first but the two wires in an (old) amplifier than open the hdd and then but the wires on some pins near the reding arm(if you get the wrong pins your amp may damage) pins and test out when the arm starts moving you got the right pins(of course the amp must be turned on for this the best his on high volume more than 2)...then solder the wires on the pins and thats it

@TheDemoniusX most hard drives come with a speaker that will amit a beep if the hard drive ever fails.
