Five truckloads of tomatoes were quickly turned into puree in the Tomatina tomato-throwing festival in the town of Bunoi in Spain. Tens of thousands of people took part as plum tomatoes covered walls and bodies to the enjoyment of all concerned.

The United States of America so needs an event like this once a year in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. American's need to step back, if for only one day, and bring their nose down out of the air, stop eating their sushi, and take a day off from the fabulous gym/yoga and throw tomatoes at each other...get themselves a little dirty. A good reality check and tomato puree in their noses would do them good, ground them a little...even if only for a day.
