  • @magicadespell56 Adding chicken breast or shredded meat will definitely turn this quick and easy rice pilaf into main meal. I usually serve tomato salad or refreshing yogurt drink with it. Thanks for your input.

  • @catris I agree with you. I cook plane rice only when I am cooking with different spices to accompany certain dishes like roasted turkey for example.

  • @thatbastardson You can fry the rice too if you like, but first fry the orzo to obtain this beautiful golden color, then add the rice, fry it for 5 to 10 seconds, and then add the water.

  • why not toast all your noodles, if you're going to toast orzo.......

  • This is the rice I grew up with... well the vermicelli version. Plain rice is too boring for me now :)

  • i make this a lot! i brown my orzo in olive oil- my mother made this many a day when i was young ! its cheap and good- i add shredded chicken breast to it to make it more of a meal- with lots of black pepper---everyone should try to make this big flavor little work! yum x shelly
