@PatrickEngSU I do have to say, you might be slightly wrong here, see Battle of Metaurus, when Caius Claudius Nero uses his cavalry and infantry to rout the enemy. Besides, the Roman army ceases to have a cavalry component after the Marian Reforms, by which time, they use Auxiliary cavalry, which were some of the best cavalry in the North: Gauls and Germans. Indeed, Scipio's cavalry WAS well trained otherwise it couldn't have come back to hit Hannibal in the rear.

The discussion about the cav here is wrong. Roman cav sucks- it sucked before Zama and would continue to suck until the greek speaking romans began using heavy cav. Hannible lost this battle because he did not have as strong of a cav component as he did in early battles- indeed the best cav in the mediterranian, the numidian cav, was fighting for the romans at Zama. This and the tendancy of rome to learn and adapt from prior defeats were the reasons why Scipio prevailed here

@Senyorpiroteknik Languages never spread around because of education or high level comunication, but are a natural energy.

@McLarenMercedes So, u mean Latin language spread all along the known world because of christianism? That sounds a little bit like you're ignoring that centuries before the Roman Empire accepted cristianism, Rome was already ruling and changing the known world.
-
@McLarenMercedes Unbelieveble somebody could write something like this. Roman empire lasts 1000 years because they were good at steal other ideas? Sounds so lame. And separete roman and greek culture is lame as well. Romans were born from the cross of etrurian, latin and greek culture. Rome was the place were the greatest mediterranean culture mixed up to go beyond to all another level of society.
Very well done. Both informative and easy to watch.

@pimpin702101
the romans gave and influenced the world so much, like their own form of government, building styles, and even their language. there's a lot more but those alone are more than what africa and spain combined have given.
