1.02 - This Is My Life... But Why?

This episode starts a day after Haley left Tree Hill. Brooke calls Haley up in LA and pleads with her to come back but Haley doesn't budge. She hangs up on Brooke again.
Brooke then talks to her new friend, Peyton, about this whole mess and she doesn't know what to do. Peyton asks how Karen is taking it and Brooke honestly doesn't know.
That same day Karen goes over to her good friend, Andy, and tells him that Haley has left and that she doesn't know what to do. She ends up crying on Andy's shoulder.
The next day Sam and Dean talk about finding their father and Sam isn't all that hopefull. He asks Dean what they know so far and Dean tells him not much. When Dean leaves for a minute, Sam sees Lucas helping Peyton with her car, which broke down.
Lucas tows Peyton's car and tries to make conversation. She acts kind of bitchy towards him and clearly isn't interested in what he has to say. When Sam walks over to them and says something to make Peyton laugh, Lucas gets kinda jealous and says something inappropriate to Sam. Sam just chuckles and walks away. Peyton then asks him why he acted like that and he doesn't really give her a good enough answer. She then gets mad at him.
At home, Karen goes into Brooke's room and they talk a little about Haley leaving. Karen asks if it was because of her and Brooke, though hesitant at first, tells her that she did play a big part in it, and she kind of understands why. Hurt by that statement, Karen lashes out a little by giving Brooke chores to do and Brooke doesn't think that's fair.
Later that day, Brooke goes into Haley's room, which is now almost empty, and goes to lie on Haley's bed. She's sad and misses her sister.
At the end, Brooke gets an unexpected visitor.
