@saminea1 i can assure u without doubt that if the north came under LTTE control the west themselves would have come and bombed every tamil village, town and terrorist stronghold. I would not be suprised if they detained or tortured suspected terroists. If you don't believe ur precious and noble UN would do this look up the amount of civilian deaths in the war on terror AND look up the American detention camp in guantanomo bay. @saminea1 really? Last I heared Rajapaksa ended the most brutal war in Sri Lankan history. Yes he killed cvilians, yes there were casualties BUT the point is he eradicated the most deadly terrorist group in the world. you can't win wars w/o death its a fact histroy has shown us time and again. If that war did not end not only would more people still be dying but the northern half or Sri Lanka would be a base for terrorists. In this case the ends justify the means.

According to Bruce Fein, an US lawyer who has studied Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan government has been accused of extrajudicial torture, detentions, disappearances, kidnapping and murder. There has been maybe one or two convictions for injustice against Tamils in the past few decades. If Sri Lanka was in the West, the actions of the Sri Lankan gov would be classified as ethnic cleansing and genocide.
You should not be ashamed to be a Tamil. You should be more ashamed to be Sri Lankan.
