Will a oil finish effect the glue joints? For example will natural hide glue perform under oiled wood?

@TheTobyJosh We use white instrument glue, which isn't affected at all by the oil. I don't know about hide glue, but I suspect it will do fine since the oil is sold as an instrument finish.

Thanks so much for sharing your build process. Really inspiring! Wanted to know if you guys use any kind of wood pore filler on open grain woods like mahagany before you apply the tru-oil? Thanks...

@johnwmacc we use a UV-cured pore filler on our gloss poly finish, but no pore filler with Tru-Oil. We really prefer the most natural looking finish. I love the natural look of the wood (unfilled pores) with a matte or semi-gloss finish
