I've read Snow and I remember much of it. He is an excellent writer. Those who don't like his work should think of what writers in the USSR had to endure to remain in their profession. Fortunately, Turkey is a free country but always in every country we have people who are easily swayed by emotionalism.

Orhan Pamuk is a true human--he's not a rednck Turk. Because he is a compassionate human, he can see the suffering of th Kurds in Turkey. The Turkish nation needs more people like Orhan Pamuk to bring Turkey out of the dark ages they live in. Freedom is a natural God-given human right, and Orhan is only expressing that right.
