but the idea is that the majors carry more weighting to the ranking points, a win in a major is worth more than a smaller event, but it shouldnt be the be all and end all
tigers won more majors than anyone right now, but is he the best golfer in the world at the moment ? not a chance, so it would be stupid to have him as no1
@WestBromSte but that's not the case for Donald and Westwood, they're just constent, they don't win every single event as you said.
Federer, Nadal and Djokovic don't usually win small event, they let that usually for some bunch of players, they mostly win only the majors but they 're still the top 3.
If you ask anyone on the road to tell you the top 3 in Golf, 1 in 40 people maybe is going to know that and if you tell them that those guys don't win majors, they will all said that it's not fair.
but anyway, at the time donald was no1 he was easily playing the best out of anyone in the world, had something ridiculous like 14 top tens in 15 starts
saying someone needs a major to be world no1 is stupid, in your theory that makes ben curtis and todd hamilton better golfers than donald, garcia, or westwood
imagine a scenario where a player won every single event except the majors, where he would finish second every time, would you deny him world no1 ???
@WestBromSte this really sucks! Donald, Kaymer, Westwood,... they are the top 3 without any major title! Mickelson was never number 1 after all he did! If those 3 guys open a fan club, I don't think there will be more than 1/3 of Tiger or Mickelson fan club.
he sucks like hell, he thinks he is the best but so far he isn't, he gets number 1 not because he's good, because the others are struggling..nobody can deny that
@shawlerstyle Its funny you say that because I colapse my left arm after impact. I have allways done that and it works fine for me. Lack of extension for me creates acuracy and it does the same for Lee. I went on a big mission to get more extension and the only thing that did was make me long and wrong and put me up for 2 weeks from hurting my back. I think the dip move doesnt wrench the back as much as you think. But I might just be a freak of nature......lol
(ref. bent left arm at impact)...it's bad for your back, as he dips to compensate the distance he loses between him and the ball from address position.
If you stop his swing from halfway down to half way through you will see how bent and collapsed his arms get. This is a hackers position yet this is a man who almost won the US Open. Shows that swing positions dont mattter but at the same time this is not a person to copy even though he is a great player.

@Moraud5386
consistent top 3 finishes in majors in the last few years, hes easily a top 5 player, maybe not number one but definitely worthy of top 5
