This is a shoot out between a real Magnatone 280 custom and the Big Tone Music Brewery Maggie SV280 Stereo Vibrato. This video only demonstrates the amp and the pedal in normal or mono mode.

  • is this a build your own clone kit? can't find it on the site

  • @ericohman

No, this will not be available as a byoc kit.

  • Yes, turning down the intensity knob would decrease how out of tune the pitch bending is. The amp is set at its maximum intensity. You can see in the video where the intensity knob is set on the Maggie.

  • Sounds great, always loved the Magnatone vibrato.

  • What model Magnatone is that? Also: Does the pedal have a stereo ouput?

  • how does it sound if you turn the intensity down some more?

in all the comparisons the pitch wobble is more pronounced on the pedal, and the amp vibrato sounds much more musically pleasant and unobtrusive. i wonder if you turned the intensity down some more, it would sound more like the amp, because the way it's set, it sounds too out of tune for my ears.
