The work and ministry of sermonindex can be encapsulated in this one word: REVIVAL. sermonindex is not a organisation, business, or any attempt by man to build something for God. It is rather a expression of a heart burden to see the Church revived and brought back to holiness, purity, and power with God. "The mission of SermonIndex is the preservation and propogation of classical vintage preaching and the promotion of genuine biblical revival to this generation." I detect a huge irony. Piper is a Calvinist. He believes in predestination, that God's already chosen those who are going to heaven and those who are going to hell and that they have no choice. He (God) is sovereign. He does not seem to think that God is grieved to send billions of 'unchosen' to hell. So why is Piper so upset about 500,000 aborted children who also have no choice? Or is he only grieving about the % who could be the 'chosen'? Surely he's refuting his own strongly held doctrine?
If you understand predestination, you would know that it indeed involves a human, willful decision. We do have a choice, He knows who will accept.
Just my two cents. I see where you're coming from though. Our imperfect minds just simply can't comprehend until we reach perfection. Why would he tell us not to murder if we can't thwart His will? Compelling questions.
I detect a huge irony here. Piper is a Calvinist. He believes in election - that only those whom God has predestined will go to heaven and that the billions who are not chosen will go to hell and that they have no choice in the matter, nor does God grieve over them. But here Piper grieves over aborted children who had no choice and accuses Obama of infanticide. (BTW, I'm pro life but non-Calvinist)
Quite right. I oppose abortion, but it disgusts me how few people waving signs in front of buildings have actually done any work to help even one woman choose to carry her baby to full term and to help meet her needs. Many have, and that is wonderful and I am grateful. But I am confident that most haven't, and that is a shame. The gospel is more than a list of truths (among which one is that abortion is wrong). We cannot minister the gospel without helping people.

You misinterpreted.
What brothers and softening heart speech you giving me? I do not follow.
