Hi, Thanks for the tut! Question; how do you feel about hyphenating in at end of a line? I see the option for it but to me it looks weird

RAGGED LINES?
Under Paragraph Styles>Indents and Spacing>Alighment, there is a check box "BALANCE RAGGED LINES"!!!!

Nice video!!! Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but do you by any chance know how to eliminate hidden characters? like not hide them but completely delete them.

@creativeoutfit An appeal to authority isn't an argument. I didn't say a 1.5pt grid could never be on any use, just that in this example (and for most practical applications) it is useless.
I am not offended. I simply think your advice to use soft returns as you do is bad advice and that viewers should be aware of a better solution.
"done at the right time, effects are minimal" as much as admits that soft returns cause damage. No Break is more contextual and non disruptive when in mid line.
Setting a 1.5 pt grid is useless. Just look at the example, none of the baselines align across columns.
Paragraph Composer is better than the old Single Line Composer. You just have to get used to it's behaviour.
Soft Returns to force line breaks within a paragraph is simply BAD typesetting. They can cause major errors if text reflows, even affecting pages other than which are being viewed. Much better is to use No Break.

@Blackmark52 I have to disagree with you. A 1.5pt baseline grid might seem exceedingly anal but I know of several serious design shops that handle big time annuals every year and they always use that implementation. What I didn't cover in the video, since it was for beginners, is that the 1.5pt grid should be applied to photos and other graphic elements as well, creating a much cleaner layout overall.
As for soft returns, I disagree with you. If done at the right time, effects are minimal.

@Blackmark52 PS - Why do you seem personally offended by this video?
