Hello City Planner

A small business entrepreneur learns about restaurant regulations in San Francisco. This video is a fictional but accurate portrayal of the current restaurant controls in the City's Planning Code. Some minor exaggerations have been added for effect. The City is currently considering proposals to simplify and improve the City's restaurant controls. The Board of Supervisors may consider changes as early as December 2011.

@fsboreal YES!  THANK YOU! FINALLY! Someone used fascism correctly in context! It seems like most folks (morons) think that anything capitalist is fascist, but it's not. Fascism is a system in which private ownership is permitted by the government, but the government dictates what the business is allowed to do. What's so ironic about this is that it's the left leaning hippies who call conservatives "fascist", but it's left leaning government policies that enforce fascist regulations.

Don't be so hard on the planning commission or the city. They are just trying to keep things FAIR. Just like our glorious President and the beautiful and talented Mrs. P want to do for the entire country.

Hooray, to open a small business you must rent the space, without opening the store, for 6 month - 2 years, without income. While also paying all the fees and research.

Oh, you have an idea for a store that could make you $2,000 a month? Well invest the required $400,000 in the bureaucratic nonsense and hope to make your money back in about 17 years... or go somewhere else.

You're financially better off selling crack, and less likely to get caught breaking the law.

Wow, this is what happens to enterpreneurs while illegal street vendors cook tacos in the street, don't have to pay taxes, and are left untouched by the enforcer officers.
