  • Hey, here's an idea America, lets not make it 10,000 dollars to adopt, (at the LEAST) and maybe more of these kids will get families instead of people going overseas to adopt.

  • I know how these kids feel bc i was in their position at one point. I have recently found a family who loves me to no end and i can't help but love them too. Its like there was a hole in my heart and now that they're here its just gone :)

  • In the state of AZ it costs $800 to adopt an older child (called a "Community Adoption". Then the state fully reimburses you the $800! Additionally there are special tax credits you can claim on your income tax for adopting. (Only private adoptions of infants come with high costs.)

  • PLEASE know that adoption does NOT have to be an huge expense. I know most people think this (due to hearing of the cost of overseas adoptions). PLEASE, PLEASE know that adopting from foster care is FREE. Yes, FREE! Yes, it may take some time & effort in getting licensed through 'the system'...but these children need YOU! We have 6 children, four who were adopted from foster care (we were their foster parents). Sibling groups are in HUGE need!! Let God direct your paths...open your hearts!!

  • Irritates me that I can't adopt because I have a mental disability. Plenty of people that have mental disabilities, most worse than mine, end up raising kids the right way. Some people that don't have any disabilities screw up raising their kids, like what happened to me!

  • @tnadams81

The same is true of older dogs as well.

  • It's truly a shame how many people out there shy away from adopting older children. There seems to be this assumption that there's something wrong with them, otherwise they would have already been adopted. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Imagine if we'd all open our hearts and homes to just one of these children. It would be amazing.

  • @taintedinnocence85 try paying for a whole foster home, clothes food bills for over a hundred kids possibly

  • @LShiny Adopting from foster care in the US is FREE!! There are so many children who are "legally free" and just need a home. It is hard work but so worth it. We have adopted 2 and working on our third right now. It has only cost us the sacrifice of our hearts and you can do that!

  • My husband and I would love to adopt and could support a child in our lives, but with the adoption costs there would be no way we'd ever be able to do this. We have so much room in our hearts.

  • I had looked into adopting several years ago. We wanted child around 3-8 because I already had a son & wanted him to have a brother or sister around the same age. The cost involved was so astronomical, so entirely unattainable for us, we abandoned that idea.
