there's nothing wrong with belt-drive

Considering that you're possibly the first person ever, to have a turntable belt "slip off", I don't think "delicate" is the descriptive word I would use. Maybe "jinxed" or "cursed" would be more accurate since I've never heard of (let alone ever seen) a belt slipping off of a turntable & I grew up in the 1960s & 70s with parents of a thrift shop, so I've literally seen thousands of belt drive turntables in various degrees of working & non-working order.

Well, I can scratch on a belt drive turntable until the belt slips off. Can you? I mean, I'm not lying. It sounds pretty good. Guess ya just gotta be slick and delicate like me, eh.

Your comment shows that you have no idea what you're talking about. The reason you use direct drive turntables for DJing isn't because DJing causes a belt to slip off, it's because belt drive turntables have less torque which causes the platter to slow down or stop rotating when your hand is manipulating the the record.

I can actually scratch with a belt drive- I learned via necessity- I could pop in there and slip the belt on right quick and get right back on the groove hahaha

i still have some, and dis video gives me some ideas how to use them

Most Direct Drive turntables sound like crap. The only half way decent sounding Direct Drive turntable I've ever heard are the Technics 1200 & 1210 turntables, but almost any Belt Drive turntable at half the price will sound a lot better. Unless you're using some really crappy cartridge. But since this video is tagged "turntablism" & "scratching" sound quality isn't an issue. For scratching Belt Drive turntables are useless, but every Scratch DJ wannabe has known that since the 1970s.

Finally.. a use for belt drive turntables!
If you find a belt drive don't leave it alive.
