Or maybe it's just a lie to prey on vulnerable people to convince them to buy drugs. Sure, drugs will numb you or "pick you up" temporarily, but it won't solve the underlying life problems that trigger emotional disturbances and upsets; and the drugs come with the price of worsening your condition in the medium-long term.
