Hello!!!!

This is one of the piano songs composed by Jay Chou for the movie he directed "Secret". I've never listened to any of Jay Chou's songs in the past, but when I was introduced to this song by my piano teacher, I immediately fell in love with it.

This is a very close replica of a classical piece, with the theme ABCBCD. The first passage of the song sounds very much like a Prelude, mirroring the contrapuntal style popularized during the classical era of J.S. Bach and early L.V. Beethoven, to name but a few composers. The "Jay Chou stamp" on this song is reflected in the BCBC passages, which reflect a feeling of "secrecy" and "nostalgia". The last passage of the song (D) is a "forward passage" which moves the whole song forward until the very end, as opposed to returning to the original motive as follows: ABCBCA.

My piano teacher recommended this song as a "finger exercise". I love this piece!!!!!! I'm so proud of Jay Chou! Hahahahaha!!!!! He added a slight twist to the conventional version of most classical pieces.

Hope you enjoy it too!!!! Rate, and leave a comment!

Interesting fact: Do you know that W.A. Mozart composed the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" when he was only 5 years old? Now, that is a true prodigy. Today, we have Emily Bear who composes her own songs at the age of 6. ^___^

  • if you could for how much would you sell your talent??

  • @Hacmena12 Lol, I won't sell it. :P

  • very good insight, is this in the original key? do you have the sheet music to the original key ?

    thank you!

  • Yeah, it is in the original key. :) You can find the sheet music by googling it. :)

  • awesome music n nicely played. however i think ur resting ur camera on the piano. i can hear it vibrating with the piano. kinda messes with the quality. but u're a great with taht

  • No, I did not place the camera on the piano. I placed it on a tripod. But the camera I used was not very good in recording videos, hence the buzz and vibrations you hear.

  • CHAIR IS TOO HIGH ! NO ONE TELLS U TT IT AFFECTS UR PLAYING??!!

  • I think it was really good, but I've noticed that when you play, you go alot from the sheet music. You should play with some flair. It might make it sound nicer.

  • 0:13 - 0:14 -->High on weed.

  • @Hacmena12

This song does'nt need talent to be played..

  • 慢左既0.0

  • Great job, learning the song right now and I've been using this video as a reference as to how it should be played.

  • @Tubbs3695 I play it as well check out my channel. My audio quality is great, but Kyle's style is just undeniably awesome :)

  • Love your version or style but Kyle Landry does this song better! Everyone should check him out....BTW good playing man.

  • GREAT playing!

    But bad audio quality D:

  • @ivannaruto That's the form of the piece. The different letters represent sections of the song:

    A - up to 0:33 - the introductory part

    B - 0:33 to 0:41 - the crossover-y part

C - 0:41 to 0:58 - the part that goes up and down the piano

    B - 0:58 to 1:05 - the B section returns

    C - 1:05 to 1:14 - and back to the C section again

D - the rest - What Jeremy's saying is that normally the piece would return to the A section, but this section moves it in a different direction instead.

  • this is really good! i think you, out of all the people i've listen to play this, have used the best control on your tempo. i hope i can play the song this well!

  • i liked it because i didn't feel rushed esp in the fast part, i felt the rhythm...a lot of vids i've watched tend to speed up the tempo and then messes it up. this for me is 5*

  • not even for like $3 mil?

  • not bad!!

  • Good in clearance, however, you still have to improve the speed, as it was not quite consistent , pretty fast in the first bit,, and slow drown quite obviously while keys were becoming more and more. I am going to like this video, but yea,,, that is comment,, no offence =]

  • 0:36 whats that vibration kinda sound?? o.O and yeah that highest note u play mine don't sound the same its weird i must have fake version

  • hey nice playing :)

I don't self-learned piano so I know very little.. could you explain more on the abcbcd part?

  • I almost went back in time!

In my video after I played it some things started to move around a bit rofl

  • after you played that last E, i was just waiting for you to spontaneously go back in time ;)

  • I think u should add some pedal in ;)....U dun hav to do it if u dun want to
