Yes, it's real: We actually do have this many hummingbirds coming to our feeders.

  • Are those Ruby-throats? Where in the country do you live? Do you only get this many during the spring and fall migration?

  • Yes, those are ruby throats. We live in Athens, GA. And yes, we have a few residents on our farm from spring through summer, but they're only out there this thick and doing battle from about mid-August through mid-September. At that time of year, I have about 30 feeders up, but it doesn't do anything to diminish the battles. Thanks for the comment!

  • I thought it was CG or after-effects editing at first; but I guess it really is real. WOW...It's frozen up here in Canada, though :(

  • Nope, I sure don't have the skills to do any CG work like that. Nor would it be worth it when it was so easy to just plop the camera on a tripod and mumble into the microphone! I need to do an update, that was two years ago and we get a lot more now.

  • wow. I wish we have them here too in UK, all we have are crows and seagulls!! :-(

  • Now I know that's not true. You may not have hummers like we do, but I know you have bushtits and the hoopoe, right?

  • I love humming birds I have a pet hummer that lives in my tree that is in my backyard

  • the hummer feeders should not be placed in direct sunlight.if you do place in direct sunlight the nectar will go bad very fast.

  • Thanks for feeding the hummers and the video. We go all out with the feeders and that is awesome.. We have from 5 to 7. And hummers this year from the second week of April to the last week of Sept. We only have the ruby throats. When the feeding is at it's peak i use just over a gallon of sugarwater a day.. We feed the wildbirds also.. Birdseed has almost doubled in the last two years and the quality has gotten bad. We add what we can. It's really expensive. But we will keep on keeping on..
