In this video I show how to remove the left arrow key. It goes into plenty of detail, and I show how to deal with the brackets underneath the key as well. Please feel free to make requests for new videos. I believe the videos I've done should be sufficient for the whole keyboard. Next will be the top case. And after that, the easer, and cheaper, parts to replace (or even upgrade!) and some suggestions on replacement parts.

  • Watch how I remove the key. You want to wedge something between the key and the plastic bracket. It helps to press your finger against the bracket as you're prying so the key or the bracket don't go flying, like they did to me. Look at the bottom of the key, and you should be able to see which side snaps and which side hooks in. Put most of the prying/wedging force on the side that snaps. Good luck!

  • Hey man, nice video. I have a windows vista toshiba laptop and my left key doesn't really work. What I mean is I would press it and it doesn't move to the left as I want it too. Do you know how to fix it without taking it into a repair shop? Anyways thanks man !

  • Much thanks!

  • How / where do you buy the replacement keys?

    Thank you.

    Good video.

  • All I used were a pair of tweezers.

I watched other videos but the brackets didn't look the same as the arrow key brackets even though it was the same concept. The closeness of the video helped a lot. Thanks. I felt so gangster for replacing the key myself, haha
