Rare Mr Big track from the Navy Seals soundtrack

"Mr. Big recorded two songs for this CD. A big time "songwriter-guy" wrote the tunes. It was a real challenge to make these tunes sound like Mr. Big. I remember sitting on the tour bus listening to the demos that the guy had sent us, and thinking we were DOOMED. The demos were that classic 80's disco-metal, with beer-commercial vocals, sequenced synth-bass(YOP YOP YOP YOP YOP), and of course drum machine programming with the Big Cheese Tom-Tom fills plowing right over the beat.

I ended up keeping the vocal melody and lyrics and reworking everything else completely. I changed the guitar riffs, most of the chords, the drum arrangements, the intros and outtros, and most of all... the FEEL.

I was actually surprised that the producer let us get away with it! The songs didn't sound anything like the demos when we were done with them.

Anyway, it was a real learning experience in seeing how you can rearrange ANY song to fit your own style. This was probably the seed of me doing things like putting my own version of Spice Girls songs on "Alligator Farm"."
