This is an excerpt from the first episode hosted by Pat Slattery and Justin Trottier at the Center for Inquiry Canada's head office in Toronto, Ontario. Taped Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:00pm ET.

Pat and Justin speak with caller Steven from Scarborough about the difference between god and bigfoot. Then activist Kevin Smith updates us on the Ontario catholic school ban on Gay Straight Alliance student clubs.

You don't have to call it "asinine" that he's trying to shift the burden of proof. It's a common fallacy. Don't be hating on the caller just because he's ignorant. Cut him some slack; there's better ways to explain why he's wrong.

This is pat. keep in mind this caller has called in on my show prior to the cfi think again , he phoned in multiple times with the same question, so i was a little hot, apologies to all that thought it a bit much.

There debate on how do you know god exists cam be countered by how do they know that god doesn't exist. And why are most athiest programs just athiest bashing religion?

@ThinkAgainCFI I'm not even sure how they get away with this. Even under the Canadian constitution those students have the right to form that group. Perhaps it might also have something to do with the "religious freedom" clause, but just how far does that extend? If the Westboro are banned in Canada for hating gays, there should be something done along the same line for any faith-based school that violates students rights.

The school anti-GSA thing is ridiculous. Let's play devil's advocate for a second and say I agree the homosexuality is wrong and should be forced out of school. What better way to do that then get a bunch of gay students together with straight ones who can convince them they're evil under the guise of compassion? So it's a win-win!

Of course, if Satan takes over and convinces the straight students that homosexuality is okay, well...then we'd have a problem.

You really jumped a bit too fast to pulling the asinine card. Its a valid card to play, but it was a rather poor tactical choice. Although this may be a consequence of the editing.
