Yesterday Nightline featured a story about former AT&T technician and whistleblower Mark Klein. While working at AT&T headquarters in San Francisco, Klein discovered (and had the courage to speak out about) a secret eavesdropping room that all of the company's traffic was routed through. With the help of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Mr. Klein went public back in April 2006, but alleges John Negroponte and Michael Hayden pressured the LA Times to kill the story.

  • noteworthy, beyond the under-reported information in the video, it that it got 206 views here, but only 2 ratings and 2 comments (mine being the second both times). Isn't a 100 - to - 1 ratio really unusual at YouTube? What is it about this story that brings such silence in response? Is it dumbfoundedness? Denial?

  • Cognitive Dissonance/Denial.

  • Welcome to the modern day Third Reich. Bush is by definition a dictator. Don't speak out against his holiness or they'll send the gestapo police after you and torture you with tasers and 30 bully cops pouncing on you at once. Fuck George Bush!

  • Exactly. As I comment here, our representatives in Washington from both parties are negotiating away our civil liberties as we speak. Where's the outrage?

  • @Keither9 . Well that is how a police state works. Just like "Pravda" in the former USSR. Same difference

  • @bearealman Stupidity and apathy. And there's probably something good on the Tee Vee.

  • The LA Times is the bogus news agency on the planet. They monitor the online comments to the point that they are nothing but a propaganda rag. A person can report what they know to be true and if it is not in line with their agenda it is deleted. That not news at all its not where anyone needs information from.

  • A Democratic Congress made thses Interceptions nice and Legal in 2006 so let's not whine about it being illegal. We Dems know the Govt has every right to listen and watch you to make sure you're not planning anything that might upset the Globalists plans to keep you, your money, and your property under their control.. Get over it and admit you don't have the balls to fight.

  • Mark Klein discovered the NSA SPYING ON AMERICANS & turned all the info into his boss at AT&T & the scumbag boss informed the NSA instead of telling the newspapers or releasing the news. Talk about scumbag Nazi BigBrothers watching sll of us.SIEG HEIL AMERICA.This country sucks.

  • I think you all have missed the point. Obama and Bush are just two heads on the multi-headed monster known as the Federal Government. Instead of getting all worked up about Democrat vs. Republican, why don't we all wake up and realize that both parties steal our money and our liberties.

  • 100to1 ratio is unusual in that it is high. Look on highly visited sights and you will very low ratio for ratings
