written by Frank Boeijen (1987); lyrics translated by Ron Lindeman 2007.
Recorded 3 July 2007, Blue White Studio, The Hague
This is a video made while I was playing together with Ray van Maanen, a leadguitarist, and David Samson, a percussionist.
Ray is a good guitarist who is very good in improvising and David is an excellent percussionist. David did'nt use a drumkit or congas, but did use a cajon and many other exotic percussion instruments.
They both have extensive musical experience both on stage and working in studios.
They are also both music teachers by the way.
The story behind this is as follows.
We actually never played together before .
I sent them a couple of songs about a week before we would play together.
When it came down to actually playing together I played a song one time solo and the second time we played it together and simply recorded it at the same time.
It worked well except maybe for the endings.
But the point is, that if you are able to listen to one another while playing, everything will come out easy.
Music will flow out of your soul easily.
There will be a vibe and harmony.
And that is how nice making music can be.
If it would be up to me, I'd play together with an entire philharmonic orchestra.
But a string section would also do.
I just love violins.
And flutes by the way!
Anyway, it was nice to do.
This was recorded on the 3rd of July 2007, Blue White Studio at The Hague.
My personal thoughts on making music:
1) Music to me is by definition emotions. A song is an island filled with deep emotions and feelings and a song must be able to touch the listener in the heart and soul.
2) I don't believe in simply copying the orginal. Try to change a song into your own version of it. For instance in the way you play an instrument and/or sing or change tempo or add different musical arrangements, etc.
3)I don't mind playing covers of songs. In the classical music world almost everything consists of covers. The musicpieces of composers are often centuries old.In popular music it's no problem playing songs written and recorded by others.Just add what is specifically your own.
4) Music is always subject to people's personal taste. Your background, culture, the country you live in, your environment, etc, are factors that may influence your musical taste. But all humans have emotions and feelings. With music you can touch someone in the heart and soul and arouse emotions and feelings.
5) pure technical skills don't necessarily mean that a music piece or song is conceived as beautiful.
6) it are the listeners that will judge your songs and music. Not you as the musician or other people in the music business.

Hi, yes, it's a translation I made of the original lyrics. I tried to follow the original words as best as possible. Had to adapt it with some minors changes.
Doesn't influence the whole of the lyrics.I saw you're a real Frank Boeijen fan, so am I. Great songs he wrote and he should have tried to sing in English. In Octobre we're planning to perform in a club in Amsterdam. We'll be playing this song too I guess. Take care and greetings from Ron
