"Bitter Sweet" leads Jennifer Baldwin Peden and Andrew Wilkowske share their perspectives about the Twin Cities' Skylark Opera (formerly known as North Star Opera and now celebrating 30 years).

Skylark Opera presents its third annual summer festival June 12 through 20 at E.M. Pearson Theatre in St. Paul. This years summer festival features two popular operettas presented in repertory: The Merry Widow by Franz Lehar and Bitter Sweet by Noël Coward.

"The Merry Widow," a celebrated Viennese operetta that is one of the most popular musical theater works of all time, stars Vicki Fingalson, Jeffrey Madison, Amanda Broge Jenkins and Robb Asklof under the direction of Robert Neu.

Ben Krywosz directs "Bitter Sweet" for Skylark Opera.

We provide our audience with an artistic experience they cant get anywhere else, says Artistic Director Steven Stucki who is conducting both productions, and we present our work with full orchestra, chorus, the opportunity to closely connect with professional artists in an intimate venue, and the beauty of natural, unamplified sound.
