installation instructions and specs for complete information.
We'll begin our process with the main cross bar. We'll start by putting our caps on the ends. These just slide in like so. Take this little screw and just they thread their own hole in the plastic that holds it in place. Following that, you install four bolts that slide into the track. There are two on each side. At this point we can start assembling the main uprights. Basically, they install on the bolts we just installed, and we bolt them loosely as we may have to adjust them depending on the bed of the truck. At this point we can set the rack on the truck itself, again leaving it loose for adjustments, this will require the help of an extra person. Once you get it the way you want it, go ahead and snug down one of the bolts just for the readjustment, at least it gets you in the ballpark. At this point we start the assembly of the clamps themselves. Take a bolt and run a jam nut all the way down and that gets threaded into the clamp. What happens is when this is installed on a truck, the bar here covers it up so it distributes the force without punching a hole in your truck bed. Go ahead and run it in about half way through and do the same for the rest of the clamps. At this point we can install our clamps, what they do is they slide in this track here, and the bolt clamps up in here. Now that we have the clamps in a pretty good spot we'll tighten down and make sure this sits square on the bed. What we did was we loosened the top and pushed this back square against the truck and snugged it back down. Now we can go back to these and secure them in their final resting spots. We'll repeat this for the other side. Now we can go and tighten down the cross bar once your certain it's centered. Now we can install the trim caps that go on the bases here. Getting close to the end, we can put our ladder clamps on. Just drop a bolt inside here, the hook itself has a latch that goes in the track too, put the washer on and your done with one, one to go. Now we can install the trim pieces that get caught in this channel right here. Basically it's just a press fit rubber seal that pops into place. One trick is if you pull it back a little bit it goes in easier. Then you trim off your excess. One final check is to make sure the rack is centered again as things can happen. When you're finally done you can tighten down your base clamps by tightening the jam nuts here which keep these screws from backing off. As you can see we have the complete assembly here. As you saw earlier we put together one half of it as we had the other half already put together. If you notice the only difference between the two is the bases point towards each other. This is so you have maximum spacing on the racks on top. That's the only difference between the two otherwise they are identical parts. There you have it for part # TH375, pick up truck rack system, part of the professional series line.
