After people die, they spend a week with counsellors, who help them pick one memory, the only memory they can take to eternity. They describe the memory to the staff who work with a crew to film it and screen it at week's end; eternity follows.
This is a beautiful humanistic film that, despite its premise is ultimately optimistic and uplifting.

  • it's such a great film.

  • These weren't scripted right?

  • Aha, that's it, it's FLATLINERS, with Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, Kiefer Sutherland and Oliver Platt. ^_^

  • I remember that film, I had it on VHS... If I just rememberd the name... what was it?

  • It's a film with Kevin Bacon, isn' it?

  • Flatliners(1990)

  • p.s...and so thats all i really remember from watchin it, i think it was filmed around the 80's and i THINK Jeff Goldblum (jurassic park) was in it he might be the one who heard their voices from the other side telling him to come back when the "kill" him but not literally its just temporary and all consentual. someone please help me!

  • hey does anyone know what the film is called, it's about these bunch of people that sort of make each other die briefly to see what the afterlife is like, and we see one person die and he sees this woman and the people who are still alive start calling his name, and from the other side, he can hear their voices and he runs towars the voices. and in another scene, one of them "dies" but the machinery breaks down and there like "shit!" but i think they manage to bring them back

  • kind of a shallow question, but did they release after life on blue ray? my dvd doesn't have close to this quality

  • I saw this film when it first came out. It was full from beginning to end with beautiful moments like this.
