There was no star that escaped, since Podolski learnt how to play in Germany. In Poland at that time, there weren't any good training facilities. I love Poland, and Polish people in Vienna are the best integrated of all. They have not lost their roots, but speak perfect German and so on...
However, what is the purpose of this "he should play for another country" debate
