pourquoi est tu devenue si raisonable? remember they did the alternative 7 " in french, cant wait to see them again after 20 years, still one of my favourite live bands!

lately WP videos are hard to find on youtube...the Yeah yeah yeah one (awesome) has totally vanished for instance...and this isnt too obvious

I've been checking out a lot of their stuff recently, through John Peel's Festive 50 lists, and I've come to realise just how fantastic this band is. It really annoys me at the moment that they don't appear in the Top 40 anymore, because that's exactly what's missing from the charts these days. I also think it's time they received an outstanding contribution award too.

A wet Wednesday night in 1988. Mandela Hall, Queens University,Belfast. Cheap beer which tastes like piss but, hey, at less than a quid a pint im not complaining. So far so indie student disco. But then The Wedding Present take to the stage, complete with loads of feedback,indecipherable lyrics from the Gedgemeisters strangulated voice, moshing,stage diving a-go-go and what do you know? 20 years later still the one of the greatest nights out of my life. Honestly, you had to be there. Good times.
