Empire Total War Dutch Campaign Sea Battle Gameplay, This is one of the rare sea battle I had to fight during my United Province campaign. A very powerful English fleet intercepted my fleet. My fleet was seriously outgun and out sized by the English fleet. 4 of my ship survived the fight while only 1 British ship survived. So while the game say that I was defeated, I would question it. =)

wat ontzettend jammer is aan dit spel is dat de nederlandse marine in engelse schepen vaart. alleen de fluit is een echt nederlands schip. voor de rest zijn bijna alle schepen maakt niet ui welke natie in dit spel engelse schepen. erg spijtig aangezien nederlandse schepen er veel mooier uitzagen (veel gouden decoraties en beschilderingen. waarintegen de britse schepen dit niet echt hebben

@Jeroen72 Yeah, because the goverment were republic at that time they were on the french side(because they wer republic) and when the king came back in they were on the side of the british at the end. Because Britain fought with the dutch in the battle of waterloo.

In the early revolutionary wars they were allies but after 1795 they were firm french allies and a brother of Napoleon became king. Only in 1813 they became allies with the British again.

Holland and Britain had battles over the trade routes. It wasn't a war. Holland destroyed British ships and British ships destroyed Dutch ships. They were big allies in the napoleonic wars and no war ever took place.
