New London bus design cannot be exported (11Jan11)

In an effort to help UK manufacturing, the London Mayor wanted to export the new designed "Routemaster" bus, but it appears that buulsh1t health and safety will prevent the bus from being exported to any country.

What is the coalition government doing about this obvious protectionism.... nothing.

Ha ha ha ! Whilst the rest of the UK live in the real world with modern, safe buses, londoners try to replace the iconic (or is it ironic ?) routemaster with its lack of doors !

But then of course londoners are the most subsidised part of the UK, so not expense spared as they won't be paying for it, just the uk taxpayer (aka mugs)

Its destined for the scrap heap as it is UGLY and not iconic. They should have just updated to classic routemaster body with its "half cab" and that iconic grill and put it on a modern chassis. Boris and Ken are total wankers they took away a classic London attraction and icon, what next rebuild Big Ben out of concrete???

The new bus is about 4.4 m high. That's too much for most european cities.
