It wasn't the 'music' it wasn't the after the fact videos, it wasn't the reporters who denigrated the soldiers in the field. It was the shear terror of an ambush, the night attacks, the mortor and incoming artillory, the seeing a new friend blown apart, a soldier screaming for help when there was nothing you could do. It was the next morning to get up and do it all over again and again and again. The home front had nothing good to say about you, Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, no one cared about you.
