I've owned two jetta's and can personally vouch for them being a safe car.
I've gotten to experience most of the safety feature my old one had to offer.

@Motorfordtoyota Actually Volvo was rated by numerous sources and magazines as the safest car maker in the world, followed by Mercedes-Benz.

@drewkog Actually I think Subaru was declared the safest auto maker. Dont quote me. But I think, along with Honda, I think it is one of the few makers to have a best pick in every modle. Once again, dont quote me though.

VW's aren't as reliable these days and repairing them in the USA costs a fortune. Of course very safe, though.

Agree, i have a 1997 jetta, and still strong today, i had minor problems with the engine, and a serious one that was easily fixed, once a teen hit me in the rear, and his brand new chevy had a big damage in the front, while mine got only a scratch, vw great car maker...

I have a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta in blue.
i did sell Volkswagens for 10months in a local dealership. ( NO LONGER SELL VW)
They are safe,very safe
on par with Volvo s40, A3 Audi,renualt,
and pug.
suburu or just dont have a side crash! front ok
Jetta is better than mazda 3,6,camary,honda have prob with side impact. front ok.
Simple, Buy a european car!! easy, you get what u pay for.
or Buy a Mercedes Benz!!!
