Sheri talks about Philly DJ Hy Lit as his TV show was about to end in the late 60's. Hy would continue to be a important DJ in Philadelphia later working for oldies radio WOGL. Now you can hear Hy worldwide on the web at: http://www.hylitradio.com/

  • Growing up in Philly was a blessing because there was so much on-air talent in the 1960's. We've had Dick Clark, The Geator with the Heater, Georgie Woods, Ed Hurst, The Rockin' Bird Joe Niagra, Dave Hermann, Harvey Holiday etc...BUT the hippest of them all was Hy Lit! His TV show featured live acts, cool dancers and very cool music promo videos. Hy Lit predated MTV. Truly a class act! RIP Hyski.

  • Used to watch Hy's show every Saturday night before heading off to Bishop Neumann's dance.
