Constraint Channels and Constraint Objects
For our animators that have been looking for a way to animate a ball being throw or caught, we've introduced Constraint Channels and Objects. Basically, the Constraint Object is an animatable handle for an object that will allow you to parent it to a figure's hand as it winds up for the throw, and then have the object leave the hand and fly through the air as if it's being thrown. Constraints are a simple to use feature that will permit all kinds of cool animation effects.

  • That mannequin is the one Andrew Loomis made :)))

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D

  • very cool

  • v/o ...guy! :-(

  • @JoelDReid Yes it's a Space Navigator. Be careful they are addictive, Once you get used to it you have the sensation of holding the figure in one hand while you pose it with the other. They do take some time to get used to though -- like flying a jet fighter.

  • Fantastic new feature

  • I cannot believe how smooth 2012 pro is I don't own it myself sadly but my friend does and I have borrowed his laptop while he is away for 2 weeks , My copy of 2010 is running on a older core I7 860 @ 2.8GHZ was clocked to 3.4GHZ with 4GB ddr3 but it cannot handle 1080 renders it ethier crashes or runs out of memory , not once did I have this problem in 2012. great work on improving the rendering system.

  • @JoelDReid Think he has a special professional mouse or tablet....

  • @JoelDReid 3Dconnexion Space Navigator.

  • 0:20 How is he moving the camera without using the Camera Controls palette nor the Document window mini-controls? Nowhere in the manual!
