@vwertigo what is your reasoning for even watching the whole video then? There isn't necessarily a message in this or other songs by The Decemberists. The group is a bunch of storytellers. They are telling a story in this song. It's your opinion but the fact of the matter, WHY waste your time watching/ listening to something you don't even like. Try hating on some of the more popular stuff on the scene, you know something "more" void of any real meaning or talent.

@vwertico if you really looked for good lyrics and instrumental talent, you'd recognize this song. Colin Meloy writes extremely poetic lyrics and the rest of the band is an incredibly good at playing instruments. Weather you like it personally or not, I doubt you could do better.

@ShinyValenciaFilms Oh, I realise that there are alot of talentless freaks out on the mainstream scene and elsewhere. I somehow ended up following a link or something to this. Believe me when I tell you the pause button was utilized rather quickly. I believe in giving new things a try and I do look for the best in the music I come across. I look for good singing, song writing or instrumental talent, etc. Any redeeming nugget I can attach to. Nothing here though. Sorry
