So even if she plays acoustic -- i.e. just the piano -- the message of the song is still intact. I don't know ... I'm sorry, but I don't get that message in your version. There's something about the slower tempo and the guitar that dilutes the essence of the song. I kinda have the same feeling with the other songs in the album.

But at the same time, I worry that the way I miss you might not be the same as the way you miss me ("It's always times like these ... I wonder if you ever think of me"). Carlton's arrangement fits the message well. You can really imagine how "she's walking fast to see her love", when she plays the piano in the stanzas. The theme changes when she sings the part, "and now I wonder ..."

Beautiful voice, but I have mix feelings about this album. Putting in this two cents' worth would probably upset fans, but I hope this will interpreted as a constructed criticism. I think one of the biggest dangers of doing acoustic covers is misinterpretation. For example, this is how the song speaks to me: I miss you so much and I can't wait (all excited!) to see you ("Making my way down town, walking fast, faces pass and I'm home bound"). So much that I am willing to walk a thousand miles ...
