This is the Pocket eDGe.
It has two screens: an Android tablet on one side and an e-book reader on the other.
The tablet is a full-color touchscreen. You can use your finger or stylus on this screen.
The tablet side has four buttons and a track pad to help you navigate.
The menu button opens different menu options in each application.
Press and hold the menu button to show or hide the on-screen keyboard.
You can also use a downward swipe to hide the keyboard.
The home button takes you to the home screen.
Press and hold the home button to see your recent applications.
The track pad scrolls through links and opens them when you press it.
The rotate button rotates the tablet screen ninety degrees at a time.
The unique hinge, in combination with the rotate button, allows you to ...
Use the device horizontally.
Fold it back to use just the reader.
Use it as a tablet.
Or open it like a book.
Pressing and holding on the screen acts as a right click. This will display different menu options depending on which app you have open.
The back button takes you back one page at a time until you reach the home screen.
At the bottom of the tablet screen you will find the favorites bar with shortcuts to the reader, journal, library, browser, email, and applications.
To navigate to a website, open the browser from the favorites bar.
Press the address bar at the top of the screen, then type an address on the keyboard and press Go.
To set up your email select the email icon from the favorites bar. Follow the setup instructions on the screen.
Press the apps menu tab to view the applications menu. This is where you can find all of the apps installed on your device.
The reader side is as easy on your eyes as real paper, and unlike PCs and tablets it can be viewed outside, even in direct sunlight.
Use the stylus on this side.
Like the tablet, the reader also has four buttons beside the screen.
The zoom button changes font size.
The forward and back buttons can be used to change the page.
The switch apps button allows you to move between the reader, journal, and calendar apps, depending on which ones you have open.
Press and hold the switch apps button to show the splash screen.
Note that you can personalize your splash screen from the Gallery app on the tablet.
The Pocket eDGe has one USB port located on the top of the device to attach a keyboard, Ethernet adapter, memory stick, and more.
There is also a micro SD card slot located below the reader screen for additional storage.
Also on the bottom of the device, you can also find a jack for headphones or a headset ...
Or use the stereo speakers and built-in microphone.
Use the volume buttons to adjust the system volume up and down.
To turn off the Pocket eDGe, slide the power switch.
