  • @rockerbiff Even the parka was an American creation as were button-down shirts like Ben Shermans. Check out the Sears and Roebuck catalogues from the 60`s to see where a lot of the styles came from. Bowling shoes were quite trendy at one time too. 10 pin bowling was yet another American import. The use of amphetamines was probably a left over from American pilots stationed in the UK during the war. They needed speed so they could fly numerous missions without sleep.

  • Cool to me. They look great. Mods around the world!

  • The Buggles - LOL! That wasn't even really a band. The Japanese scene looks very cool. Having grown up in the So Calif mod scene, I was very disappointed when I finally got to London. The Tokyo rally looks like what we had in L.A. in the 1980s and was no where to be seen when I visited London first in the 1990s. It was a very cool and authentic vintage scene at the club I went to, but they totally eschewed the revivalist scene that most of in the states think of as the real mod scene.

  • Here Paul Weller never hung about with you lot and he done not bad as a fake Mod, can't recall Video Killed The Radio Star being a Mod Classic, think the Mod scene was in full swing before '79 amigo, well done the japanese Mods. I must be getting old did Paddington Bear not start up the Paddington Mod Scene?? He was the Ace Face, you must have met him at a Buggles gig, lol!!

  • Listen up all u fake mods, if u dont have a parker , a pair of jam badger shoes, and a trillbey hat u r not a true mod. if u dont come from paddington or hang with the paddington mods u r not a real mod. back in the day were it all started (1979) in paddington we used to go see all the great mod bands like the chords, the jam ,the seceret affair, the buggles and the best band of all times the pirahnas ( tom hark). we are the originals the rest r all fake.

  • sorry but you are all wrong. if u dont have a parker , jam badger shoes , and a trillbey hat u are NOT a mod. And if u dont come from paddington and dont hang with the paddington mods u are a fake mods.Paddington mods is were it all started, back in the day ( 1979). listening to great bands such as seceret affair, the chords, the jam, the buggles and the greatest mod band of all time the pirahnas ( tom hark) .Go learn about mod, come to paddington where it all began.
