Hell if I had a kid and they clearly showed the skill and the will to do it, I would say go for it. because hell i'm 20 and going on a foot journey that if I live it i'll have seen over 100 cities and explored over 9000 miles of land.

Don't 16 year old girls get raped all the time all over the US and the rest of the world? I'm not saying throw caution to the wind, but you have to allow for greatness. As a parent I have an idea as to how hard that would be to be able to allow my child to do. Honestly, I don't know if I could... with that being said we have 18 year old kids that we send to war, and intentionally put in harms way. I think it would be easier to send them to sail around the world... with proper training of course.

Sorry but I don't agree with you at all. She has a lot more experience and know how than you give her credit for. The person who currently holds the record is a 16 yr old girl from Australia. Look up Jessica Watson. Her life is amazing, and was name a national hero in Australia. How about the 15 year old kid that has now climbed to the highest peaks on ever continent including Mt. Everest. Don't try to limit someone simply because you can't do it.
