A short movie made with Artoonix which features some of the drawings by the animator Preston Blair. These are viewed through a simulated zoetrope and, without any additional tweening or drawing, thus come to life.
Thanks. I've never seen the full book about PB's work, but for anyone who wants to look for them, the sheets featuring his drawings for lots of different walkcycles can easily be found on the internet..
I was quite pleased with how the simulated zoetrope idea worked. I used to use an actual home-made one in school using an old record turntable and a large circular tin fitted with a 'collar' that had the slots. Pupils then drew their own frame strips and viewed them in the usual way.
