The Mechanic is a movie about an ageing hit man (Charles Bronson), who teaches his trade to a younger pupil.

Here Bronson pays a visit to his so called lover. This is one of my favourite sequences from the film.

Really this scene is about showing how sad he and his life is.

True that I was young when I saw this glued to the t.v. I remember this gal slit her wrists and is lying on the bed.

Actually, he said try and think of something like it for next time (the letter she "wrote to him".). I just hope for his sake that he did see her before his trip to Italy :-).

He has no relationships, a girlfriend etc. He has to keep his life a secret from everyone. And he travels a lot...a hit man will watch you for days before killing you.

they want to see where you go and what you do..so then they can plan the perfect hit.

This is one of those "sacrifices" he had to make for his chosen profession. The first time I saw this, by the end of the scene I was thinking "What the fuck!?!?".
