Put this together to go with the previous post. This time I was able to take the HD Camera out to South Nags Head and shoot a group of homes that were torn apart in the storm that some called The Atlantic Assault. From the looks of these houses, it was an assault. They've all ben condemned and the sad part of it is that, as I've been told anyway, the owners can't even collect insurance on until they actually fall into the ocean. Which could be the next storm or not. Isn't that lame? It's a hazard to our ocean and our beaches on top of that. Especially when they do fall in. Imagine all of the hazardous material that will go into the ocean. Hope you enjoy the footage.

  • Well, we just had Hurricane Irene and I'm uploading the video now. BTW...these houses are in the new one so you can see the update on them

  • Thanks so much :) From the beach it is the second on the left.

It has a sign on it "Higher Ground". Do you think they will rebuild the road? It looks awful.

  • Hey Cancun! Nah...I doubt that they will rebuild that road. Especially since those houses are condemned. They'll probably wait till those houses fall in and then make the ones across the street beachfront property.

I haven't been back down there but I haven't forgotten about ya. Next time I'm over there, I'll grab some footage for ya.

  • If you get back to Seagull could you take some footage of "Higher Ground" for me? Thanks

  • Sure! I can tell you that unless they were right on the beach, there wasn't too much damage. There was plenty of sand, water and some debris but that's about it. Heck, even the main road had sand covering it in many places. The damage on some of the smaller homes along the beach was much worse on the actual homes. Probably about 4-5 went into the water. I'll let ya know if I get back down there. About where is your place?
