  • y would u put vtec engagement at 4100???? its best at 6000-6500

  • 6000 is too high, stock is 5400 4100 gave the best gains for that set up.

  • what was that brief change in noise @ 6000 rpms?

  • 0-60 of around 5 seconds or a little higher..thats deffinatly pretty fast, nice car, hopefully getting one of these soon but looking for an 05

  • 4100 rpm vtec does not make any gains... vtec keeps your power gain up throughout the power band at high rpms. Cars lose power at around 5-7rpm thats why Honda implemented vtec around those rpms. I don't see any use for setting vtec at such low rpms, but maybe a gain in torque in drag races hahaha... but the k series is so limited by its ecu.

  • @adunn225 the object to tuning is to get the most power under the curve not peak numbers. a good tune will put more area under the tq curve which is why the vtec is set so low. this is usable unlike peak hp numbers which are nothing more then bragging rights. its a very nice set up and is clearly much faster then stock so id say he is heading in the right direction.

  • @jdmfreak1992 : wow fuck you. Questionssm is my brother, so we have the same mother so shut the fuck up

  • I agree. The vtec is already optimized. Why would you move it.

  • stock is 5800 rpms...pratically 6k...your only near that rpm in 1st gear. 4.1k is useless and much more wear on your motor.

  • @Questionssm plus it gives it a much broader power band. wen vtec is set higher, its not pulling as much as if you u were pulling it in sooner so its much more helpful to keep it lower, but there is one question. how did u get it so low. i k wit a supercharger u can get it down to 4200 ish but ur N/A

  • its nice to hear that vtac dig
